The compact flange connection developed by Leybold has become the foundation of international standards in vacuum technology.

The CF flange connection consists of two geometrically identical flanges, complete with flat washers, bolts, nuts, and gaskets made of OFHC copper. CF components are manufactured from selected types of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. All parts are internally welded, preventing from the outset any cracks or pits that could constitute so-called virtual leaks.
